Well this week neither cold & wind, nor mountain fires will stop The Los Gatos Social Club from having fun this Wednesday evening. We are on for our regular dinner with cocktails @45 Broadway @6:30 followed an hour or so later by family style dinner @Gardino’s. Thanks for bringing a dinner wine.
And don’t think our dinners aren’t getting some recognition in the world of fine art – the attachment above features a fine piece commissioned for the Los Gatos Art Museum of an anonymous Social Club member sculpted immediately after one of our dinners.
THE LOS GATOS VESPARADOS, an unofficial subsidiary of The Los Gatos Social Club, is about to inaugurate it’s 2008 season. Look for Rick DiNapoli, Jeff Miller and Jonathan Knowles and their molls to be on a tear today around town. Unfortunately I will be missing this season opening ride due to a spent battery. And no, that’s not a metaphor. My Piaggio battery is down for the count.
All this Vespa stuff brings up distant memories of my first moving violation. Almost exactly 50 years ago I was riding my very first Vespa (I think I’ve had six or so over the years) in front of Crall’s Stationary Store (now Andale’s) when I was tagged for an illegal U turn. Obviously that was before Scott Seaman’s finest had things like murders to be concerned about.

Our web site, even though we still have many improvements to make on it, is proving to be quite popular. We’ve had over 4,100 visits…pretty obvious there’s a lot of people around with a lot of time on their hands.
